Franschhoek Wine Tram

On a rainy Friday afternoon, we packed our bags and set off for the airport touching down in Cape Town in the early morning and eager to meet our guide, Graeme. As soon as we stepped out into the open air we instantly knew we had arrived in Africa, that feeling of goose bumps on your skin never goes away.
This was our third visit to South Africa and once again this iconic ‘Mother City’ never disappoints. Graeme whisked us away to beautiful Franschhoek for our 3 nights in the Cape Winelands and our first experience of the famous Wine Tram.
Franschhoek is teeming with top quality restaurants including Rubens where we enjoyed some of the best local Karoo lamb with a bottle of Rickety Bridge red wine.
We spent the next wonderful 2 days laughing, eating and wine tasting as we hopped on and off the Wine Tram visiting many of the local vineyards, including Rickety Bridge! This has to be the funest way to travel the Cape Winelands, our next stop was the scenic Garden Route, here we come…
